Tour Description
The Yarra Valley is renowned for its vineyards and wineries, but wine is only the tip of the iceberg. This epicurean wonderland blends the very best perfectly made gourmet foods and labels this region has to offer.
You’ll start this fantastic fun-filled tour from the beautiful City of Melbourne (between 8 am and 9 am, depending on your pickup points), and set off on an epicurean adventure that will leave your senses singing, your mouth watering and your bags jam packed with a plethora of exquisite wines, tasty treats and goodies galore.
You’ll visit the farm gate at the Yarra Farm Fresh for the freshest local produce all under the one roof. Try some of the deliciously aromatic handmade bread, cheese and biscuits, cakes, chocolates, jams, honey and chutneys – the list goes on and on. The passionate, talented, creative and very devoted community of food producers all use quality ingredients to make a mouth-watering bounty of delicious gourmet labels.
Hopping back on the bus with your goodies in tow, you are off to visit De Bortoli Wines. Enjoy some stunning scenery from this vineyard which has been run by three generations of an Italian family. Enjoy a wine tasting experience that will not be soon forgotten. Sampling superb quality wines from their extensive range, you will learn the art of swirling, sniffing and sipping like a true connoisseur.
The amazing produce at the Yarra Valley Dairy will truly melt in your mouth. The cheeses here are truly stunning and will have your tastebuds working overtime!
Your lunch is at the fabulous Rochford Wines new-look restaurant and will leave your taste buds singing and dancing with delight as you sit down to enjoy your choice from four sumptuous one course meals (menu changes regularly) with a glass of wine, tea and coffee. Take some time to explore the gift shop, or perhaps climb the spiral staircase to enjoy the panoramic views from Rochford's famous lookout tower.
After lunch we make our way to one of Australia’s great wineries and member of the Australian Tourism Hall of Fame, Yering Station. One of Victoria’s oldest vineyards and first planted in 1838, the wines here are of exceptional quality and a tasting here is not to be missed.
Before returning to Melbourne, we’ll visit the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie where you’re welcomed with an exclusive chocolate tasting, displays of thousands of premium chocolates and European chocolatiers at work handcrafting their chocolate creations.
You will commence the journey home knowing that they have enjoyed the very best that the Yarra Valley has to offer.
